mark_stephan2
I got a really good deal on a lovely well taken care of D600 from eBay. I like the idea of controlling the camera from my iPhone or iPad. I'm currently high bidder on a WU-1B. How easy or difficult is it to use and how easy or difficult is it to set up? I'm not a technology geek and sometimes doing things that seem simple to most doesn't always apply to me and I get very frustrated. Appreciate you sharing your thoughts with me. heimbrandt
I used the WU-1b with a D610 and it worked neither better nor worse than the current SnapBridge app for my D850 with built-in WiFi does. It does not require a diploma in engineering, but patience will help. It did disconnect and required either restarting the app or camera every now and then, many times half pressing the shutter also worked. I guess it went into sleep more or something to save the battery. Range was ok for my needs as I had the camera next to me. It is not a proper WiFi solution where you can shoot from a distance, like with the Elinchrom Skyport flash control system. I used the WU-1B with an Android mobile but I would assume the iOS version of the app works equally well. There are YouTube videos that will give you a good impression of how it works.
