Aoresteen
I just bought a Mamiya M645 1000s body and was wondering where to send it for a check up/CLA. I understand that Mamiya USA is expensive and I am looking for a good independent shop that knows the M645 1000s. I am in Florida but would ship the camera anywhere in the lower 48 states. I decided that the Hasselblad 40mm lenses or the SWC are just too expensive so I opted to get the M645 1000s and the 35mm Mamiya lens instead. I might get the 145 SF lens and the 500mm f/5.6 Mamiya lenses as well. Thanks!
randall ellis
If you are in Central Florida, you could take it to Southern Technical Photo, in Orlando. They do decent work at a reasonable rate and have a pretty decent reputation. Or you could send it off to KEH. I know they do repairs and CLAs, but I've never had any work done by them before. I have bought a fair amount of gear from them, and would certainly do so again in the future if that is any help. - Randy
rick_helmke
Check with Camera Service Center in Ozark, AL. Oscar is getting a little up in years but still knows his business. I just had an F2 CLA'd there and an F4s is getting some repairs now. I've always had the very best service there. (334)774-4042. It's a classic camera shop. Rick H. Aoresteen
OK, it's 12 years later and need to have my 1000S serviced again. :) The mentioned shops are all closed. So who is servicing these old work horses? I now live a bit south of Atlanta in Newnan GA. Thanks!
dennisbrown
Try KEH. They're in Atlanta. They can probably do it, or know who can.
Aoresteen
Thanks! I'll see what they offer. I also found Forest Camera Repair in TN. They did a Mamiya RB67 65mm lens service for me a couple of years ago and list Mamiya 645 on their website: Welcome to Forest Camera Repair
