ray .
Think I'm going to have the lab scan something for me to compare. What's also happening is just too much darkening of blacks, especially as you get in the area starting about 1/4 of the way toward the borders of the frame. Or maybe I need to update VueScan. ? paul ron
i have an epson flat bed scanner that was giving me variable results. i reinstalled the software and it seemed to improve. maybe resetting everything back to factory defaults may cure your problem? does your scanner have a preview where you can make adjustments to the images before scans? reset those adjustment to defaults? but from your example, id say the neg holder isnt keeping the negs flat. on my flat bed i use a piece of glass.
