Film Camera Week for October 12

Recommended Posts

Yeah, same P&W R-2800 engine. True, the F6F-5 is said to be easy and much more forgiving to fly.

The early Corsairs certainly had bad low speed characteristics, which you don't want in a carrier service aircraft.

But the later F4U-4 was certainly comparable in performance than the F6F; faster, but wider turn circles.

The Corsair sinks like a brick when it hits the water though :(

One youtube channel I like to listen to about aircraft performance is: Greg's Airplanes and Automobiles

Some very interesting (and pretty technical) stuff about why one plane performed better under certain conditions/situations (fuel, engine layout etc)

Some 24mm shots from a while back. Working on a roll right now with same lens (Sigma 24mm f 2.9) and hope to have some from that roll soon.

I have not been around for a while but decided to try developing color so I bought a C41 Unicolor Kit and shot a roll of Ektar in my Mamiya 645e. Exposure 18 seconds at f22 using a 10 stop ND. I made a few mistakes developing like forgetting to rinse after the blitz chemical but the photos turned out in spite of my blundering around. I will do a better job next time. I was listening to a LP (Asleep at the Wheel) and it started skipping and distracted me to the point of missing the rinse. Oh well, live and learn.
