mark_stephan2
Grabbed my Sony a77 yesterday and when I turned it on it gave me a "incompatible battery" message. Have you ever seen this? The battery I was using was the one supplied by Sony. It's a USA camera purchased from B&H a few years ago. I used a second Sony battery for the rest of the day and everything seemed okay. Tonight I put the original back in the camera and everything seems okay? All of my batteries are Sony so that has added to my confusion.
rodeo_joe1
Probably just a glitch Mark. Maybe one of the battery contacts got a bit of dirt on it. I have a mixture of genuine Sony and off-brand batteries for my a6000, and I've never seen such a message. I really wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes permanent and prevents use of that particular battery.
mark_stephan2
Thank you for your advice. I read about a product called DeOxit, I'm going to use that to clean my batteries. From what I've read it has many uses and is considered safe as far as using it as a cleaning fluid.
