tcyin
I am planning a trip to Chile in a month and need some help or advice. My plan is to fly to Santaiago and then to El Calafate to go hiking in the El Chalten and El Calafate areas for about a week and then return to Santiago for the ride home. My question is whether it is worthwhile to rent a car and slowly drive up to Santiago and Valparaiso or to simply fly back and forth. If we rent in El Calafate and return in Santiago it will be in different countries and I assume very expensive. The question is whether there are worthwhile sights along the way. Anyone familiar with this area? Thanks!. Edited October 4, 2018 by tcyin www.neurotraveler.com
