Greg M
Thanks Uhooru. Enjoy your break. Sounds like a trip to somewhere exotic and very isolated. Allancobb, yes its coded for the 50mm noctilux (I have disabled the lens detection). For the price I paid for it, I'm laughing. But my evening foray to the pub did not produce very sharp results. Perhaps the day's accumulated happy juice, or just fading eyesight. The lens does need, at wide open aperture, an EVF to nail the focus, and even then it's iffy. Here's a late night example of my intoxicated folly. I'm almost embarrassed to post it. Regards, Arthur (apiarist1) Looks to me like a good time was had by all, and in focus or not I like the shot. Allen Herbert
Nice Bill. I've just bought a Industar 61 53mm 2.8 and a mr 18 2.8/37 m42 lens for my Leica T. Best built Leica ever and the cheapest secondhand. Happy days.. Funny old world. Edited September 26, 2018 by Allen Herbert
Bill Bowes
If you like the Industar 61, try a Jupiter-8 !
arthur_mcculloch2
I'd endorse Bill Bowes recommendation, Allen Herbert. I bought one from a Ukrainian ebay shop (if you are interested, just email me and I'll give you address). I think the Industar is a tessar clone; the Jupiter is a sonnar clone. Like others, I have become enraptured with sonnar designs. While there are problems with it (focus shift is the major one), it's a great lens design. Allen Herbert, they are exceptionally good shots. Great color. The chrysanthenums (can't spell this, and hope I'm identifying the flowers properly) are exceptional. Have no experience of the mir. Bill Bowes
I still enjoy using my Industar N-61 L/D occasionally. . .like here after I had "dinged" a Jupiter ! Fed-2, UFX400, OA & V800 scan. Aloha from the Mainland, Bill

Allen Herbert
A few thoughts on the Artisan 25mm, although not a Leica M mount lens, its performance reflects on the Artisan M mount lenses. I call it the Vampire lens. Very sharp, and I mean very sharp; but it really does not like the sunshine. It blows highlights, with serious enthusiasm, like a squirming Vampire about to turn to ash. arthur_mcculloch2
Allen Herbert, I cannot open or download your links. And anyway, who cares. This shot is magnificent. Luminous. You've captured a moment in time, the fragility of life, and its decay. I don't know what your faith commitments are, and they are irrelevant here, but Allen Herbert, bravo. Really well done.
