Film Camera Week for September 21

Recommended Posts

Greetings all and welcome to our new thread. Post as many images as you like from your film camera.

I'll start with a few from a roll of Plus-X that I processed earlier in the week.

While not as easy to focus as the faster tele zooms (like fixed f 3.5 maximum aperture) the XE focusing screen is bright enough to work well. I prefer ISO 400 with lenses like this to cover the occasional focus error, but when light is good I like the finer grain of film in the ISO 100 to 125 range.

less than optimum focus and maybe a bit of camera movement, same gear and lens

I like the compressed perspective of telephoto lenses for some subjects.

Switched to an old favorite lens for the remaining images.

Scale detail, same gear

I continue to find the 50mm focal length is good for a lot of subjects. When I don't need the speed of a fast 50 I often use a 50mm macro for a lot of my subjects.

Waiting in traffic in late afternoon Starkville. My youngest son is the driver of the white Mazda in photo. My wife and I had stopped at Strange Brew after eating at Chik Fil A with our son. Line of traffic had not moved during the time we walked from my car.

More images this weekend, Looking forward to seeing everyone's images.

I rode one of those trail bikes, Kawasaki 100 Trail Boss, through cotton fields, on the tractor roads, never through crops.

Also across pastures through miles of woods and gravel back roads with a tackle box, rod and reel, a transistor radio, and styrofoam jug full of Koolaid. 9 years old, no helmet, and not a care in the world. Childhood for me was Freedom.

The guy on the right in the picture above reminds me of those good days.

Thanks for posting it.

The tide was out as you probably guessed. When the tide was in, you could walk 1/4 mile out ankle deep. In that general location I caught lots of mackerel when they came through, just on hand lines from a ski boat, fun days, never went hungry, smoked mackerel, too oily any other way

I was inspired by David Scott's current post featuring his newly-acquired Agfa Optima 535 Sensor. It's been a while since I exercised one of these great little cameras so I loaded up some Ilford FP4 Plus and took one to town yesterday. I chose the mid-range Optima 1035 Sensor, and it performed up to it's usual high standards, especially in regard to the exposure metering. These little cameras really are a joy to use. I'll post a pic of the camera followed by some sample images. The film was developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 Photo using Silverfast SE software.

Finally got out to test the new-to-me Minolta MD Zoom Rokkor 35-70 mm f3.5. Very pleased with sharpness and resolution. A little vignetting. Minolta XG1 with Arista EDU 100 in Rodinal. Wet-scanned on BSH/V700. A few down at Angler's Marina.
