diegoecheverri
Hey all! I'm new to this, but I just wanted to see if anybody here knows a company or a person or (any tips) that can fix a Canon Rangefinder IV-SB (Serial code 109962) that has a shutter stuck and the film won't rewind. I sent it to a couple places and they either say that they don't have the part or that they have to re-build the shutter... I appreciate the help! Greg M
You might want to see if Youxin Ye will work on it. He does a lot of work on the cameras the Canon bodies are designed after, the screw mount Leica's. YYeCAMERA Service Price
ben_hutcherson
If a place tells you they want to rebuild the shutter, let them. It's my experience that if Canon IIs/IVs don't have pinholes in the shutters, they will develop them. Replacing the curtains is routine on silk-shuttered LTM Leicas and their clones(unless you have something rare like a red curtain Leica) and it's a false economy to have a camera you intend to use serviced without replacing them. allancobb
Youxin Ye serviced my Canon IIB to include a shutter curtain replacement and complete CLA. The charge was quite reasonable and it operates as new.
