dennisbrown
I used the F2 a couple of times in the past (mid-70's). Even though it was a work horse, I really didn't want or need one, because my work took me more to medium and large format. I did add the F3 and F5 over time, but sold all my film cameras when I went 100% digital. Lately though, the but came back around, and I've added film cameras because I like film, and the great film cameras are going begging. Today, I found this F2 on my local dealer's eBay page, and pulled the trigger. It's not an "AS", but it's in mint condition. The previous owner must have kept this one in the eveready case, because the finish is gorgeous. The shutter sounds right, and the meter matches my Gossen Luna Pro SBC. The lens is spotless; no dust, hazing, or fungus. Not a black model, but gorgeous.
JDMvW
I confess that my all-time favorite is my companion of many years, the Nikkormat EL, but both the F and the F2 are next in my heart. Here's an ad from an October, 1986 Popular Photography This is from Keppler's 1977 book on the Nikon system: Edited August 25, 2018 by JDMvW

andyfalsetta
Sweet! I have an F and an F2 and just love them both. (But the F2 is so much more "civilized") :)
ben_hutcherson
That is a beautiful example. I love F2s in all forms. I've finally managed to acquire all of them, including the weirdly expensive meterless prism. They really are a pleasure to use. As much as I like my AS and SB, I still grab an "old favorite" black Photomic that looks like it was run over by a truck fairly often.
Rick Helmke
I've bought several the past year and found my very first one from way back a few weeks ago. I've always said if I were stuck on a deserted island I'd want an F2, a 28 and 100 rolls of Tri-X. My very favorite camera. Rick H.
