Gary Naka
Situation, the yearbook has four T7. I would like a quick method to determine which camera a shot came from by looking at the file name. Example replacing 2 char in the file name with 7n: 71, 72, 73, 74. That way I can see it came from a T7 and which T7 it came from 1,2,3,4. I recall seeing it done for another camera, so looking for how it could be done on the T7. I did a Google search but had no hits that addressed file name changes. tnx. andy_szeto
Unfortunately you cannot change the file name from the camera's menu setting. However, you may tether your camera to your computer and use the EOS Utility 3 software (if it does not come with your camera, you can download it from Canon website) to change file name prefix (at least it works with my 80D and 5D II). Under the main screen there is a "Preferences" button at the bottom. It brings up another screen and under the tab "File Name", there is an option to change how you like the file name to be. Again I am not sure if it works for your T7. But give it a try.
