adamrobinson
I’m happy to announce that I’m getting married on September next year with a beautiful and thoughtful bride. My future wife and our respective families are very excited about it- me especially, since I truly believe she’s “the one” I’ve been waiting for my whole life. I met her from a foreign marriage agency while I was still studying biology in college, and we’ve been together ever since, but I’ve never met her parents. Now that we’re staying at her hometown for the summer, I just want to know if anyone can give me some tips, man to man, on how best to win over the parents of Colombian women? Of course, I wanna make a good first impression and prove to them that I am the ideal husband and father to our future children together. Any advice would be much appreciated. michaelmowery
Just be yourself and be polite. A smile goes a long way. Be a gentleman and treat their daughter with respect and love. Put her first before yourself and everything will just fall in place. Not sure what this has to do with photography but there you go.
William Michael
Moderator Note: adam, this is a photography forum - not a life coaching forum and the question is really too far off topic to warrant the conversation continuing for too long and without close scrutiny: so for those reasons this conversation will (eventually) be closed. Congratulations on your upcoming marriage and yes, I agree with michael, be yourself and be honest. William
rick_jack1
Foreign customs are very different. Do a web search for wedding photos from her country. In some cultures the bride requests some dressing photos that can get very risky and fun to shoot. Handle it like any other wedding.
JDMvW
Watch the Sicilian courting scenes in the Godfather for an example of Latin behaviors. :)I'm joking, of course, but seriously, let the in-laws-to-be set the social distance for conversation and interaction (which are likely to be physically closer than a Norteamericano is comfortable with)
