How do I turn off rear display on 7D2 while tethered?

I use my 7D2 often for astrophotography. As soon as I plug the camera into the computer the rear display lights up with an image of a computer.

I'd like to rough focus the camera manually while looking through the OVF but that rear display blows out my night vision.

Can the display be turned off somehow while tethered?

What happens if you press the live view button on the camera. Also there may be a way to toggle off the active live view computer window display that gets opened by the EOS software when selecting remote shooting and DPP and DPP can display new shots in the folder. I had it working that way with both the 6D and the 5D MK IV. I even had the cameras tethered through my Wi-Fi router so I could walk around and shoot. The files transfer is a bit slow though.

There is also a way to have the shots being saved to a specific folder on your PC and set Lightroom up to have that folder as a watched folder, and display the images.

That is about as specific as I can get off hand without setting it all up on my PC and playing with it again.

Cheers, Mark
