Mike Gammill
Greetings all and welcome to our new thread. Post as many photos as you like from your film camera. I'll start with some from a roll of Ilford HP5+ that I processed this week. Camera was the Rollei 35 with f 3.5 S. Mike Gammill
Rick- I tried a roll of the Retropan 320 and didn't care for it much as well. Too grainy, IMHO, for its speed. Nice image you have, though.

Mike Gammill
HC110 is what I used, Rick. I'd be interested in seeing what others get from this film in different developers. I won't, though since virtually everything I process is in HC110 with the occasional processing in Rodinal. I have a packet of Kodak DK-50 that I'm saving for the next time I do 4x5. Got about 1/3 box of Super XX I need to use soon.

Tony Evans
Been giving the Ozunon 28-70 f3.8-4.8 a run on the Minolta XG1. On the good side it has got me interested on using a Zoom. On the bad side it is, as expected, totally lacking in Sharpness and Contrast. Am waiting for a purchased replacement Minolta MD Rokkor 35-70 f3.5 from Japan. Unfortunately, I now read that this model is inferior to the later non-Rokkor. Comments from the knowledgeable welcome. Anyway, here are three examples on Arista Edu 100 in Rodinal (1+50). Wet-scanned on BSH&V700. WET SUNDAY MORNING, SECOND & SIDNEY. MASONIC HALL, SAANICHTON. VILLAGE ANTIQUE SHOP. 5 Tony Evans
Mike Gammill
Seem sharp enough, Tony, especially the first one. This lens, which I suspect is made by Cosina is one of the two budget priced lenses Minolta sold in MD mount. The Minolta instruction manual acknowledges that the lens might vignette at the 28mm focal length when wide open so I think they knew the limitations. Still puzzled that you heard the MD Rokkor version of the 35-70 was inferior to the Minolta MD version. Never had both at the same time so I cannot say for certain. The Ozunun, like its Cosina, MInolta (etc) siblings no doubt will have some combinations of focal length and aperture that will deliver less than optimum results. You may eventually find when focal length/aperture combinations work well.
