Thank you James. It actually was a little surprising to me, a darkroom print is hanging on my wall and looks the same way you see the scan (there wasn’t any post-processing to speak of). The late afternoon lighting must have been just right; it almost looks like an infrared effect!

OK Dave thanks, I have no idea whats authentic and what isn't. Some of the reenactors there were clearly much more serious about getting it just right than others. As I mentioned there was a complaint about googles being worn but, I don't think they were talking about the guy I photographed.

There is no photographic evidence to support that B-8 and M-1944 goggles were being worn or even issued to ground forces before April 1945 (and even then I only know of 2 photographs), yet re-enactment shop still offer them as "authentic kit". And the 'less serious' re-enactors buy and wear them.

For American tank crews in the North-Western Europe the most common ones available were the Polaroid 1021 Goggles, M1943 folding/pliable goggles and M1 Eye-shields (from their gas protection kits). You also see a rare few older models and captured German ones.

But yeah, it still winds me up to see people not put in the effort. ;)

And I'm Dutch, by the way.

I could waffle on about Tanker goggles for an hour, but we're on the wrong forum for that :p

These weekly threads go from strength to strength...Great to see so many members participating! Yesterday was the shortest day of the year and I got out in the afternoon with the camera I posted in the "What camera are you using this weekend?" thread, an Olympus OM-10 fitted with the manual adapter. As Mike mentioned in that thread, the OM10 is a very light little camera that's capable of producing excellent results, so I took it for a stroll in the park. The light was hard and the shadows wonderfully long, but the 35-105 Zuiko f/3.5-4.5 handled things very well. One failing I've noticed before with the OM-10 is the lack of any indication in the viewfinder to advise what mode the camera is in, aperture-preferred auto or manual, but I usually shoot in the manual mode to allow for easy exposure compensation. The film was Kentmere 100 developed in PMK Pyro.

Allancobb, love your results with the Super Ikonta and the red filter. I'm torn between doing your hand holding trick or buying an adapter to allow screw in filters for my 532/16.

Thanks Andy! I think with the camera handheld, the linkage from the shutter button, through the camera, to the shutter release lever can cause a lot of movement. Add to that, handholding a filter with the other hand can induce even more. If there’s a way to attach the filter it would help. I never obtained the slip-on filters for the Ikonta so I had to improvise.

Just scanned a roll of Plus-X that I processed earlier today. First shots from my newly acquired Tamron Adaptall 35-80 f 2.8-3.8. Really didn't need it as I have plenty of zooms (including a fair number in Adaptall mounts), but the great results I've seen hear kept tempting me to look for one. Recently loaded some cold stored Plus-X in one of my bulk loaders so I used a roll of that. Camera was Minolta XE.

I think at the wider focal lengths there's some barrel distortion

upload_2018-6-22_17-41-31.jpeg.1838380f893201c7269b97096ff476fe.jpeg

a little barrel distortion? Regarding the sign: don't you wish this was true for film

The close focusing ability of it is useful as well.

Hello everyone. Allan, Andy, you might be interested in the push-on adapters for the vintage folders. My Agfa's use 30.5 mm push-on to Series V or Series 6 drop in filters. These were very common during the time of the folders. These adapters also allow the addition of the lens shade. Bill1666340452_DSCF6656gsbc.thumb.JPG.10f10534f59a258929c87ce8b876dcbb.JPG

Hello all

Here are a few from a bulk roll of HP5 with the Leica IIIf with the "new" Elmar 3.5-22 developed in HC110 dil. B

Some have grain issues some not so much, need to try some other developers, I am going to order some more Pyrocat HD in glycol this time as the last batch in water I think went bad/stale?? I have some Rodinal I may give it a try next time and I need to try HC110 at dil. H as well.

Great work, Don. Regarding HC110, I have better control over most film with dilution H. I still do Tri-X at dilution B but next bulk roll I get I may try H. Besides, it's "cheaper". I've come up with times for films not even recommended for HC110 dilution H over the years. For example, the original Rolliepan 25 does well for me at dilution H.

Howdy everyone. Don, grain or whatever, the frames are sharp & chrisp. . .I will take that with ANY combo of film / developer. Do get the HD in 1979644152_DSCF0744ces5gsbc11x14d.thumb.JPG.4c36836e10b94294b1a34aa5706573fe.JPG glycol Don, as it last almost forever. . .have a half full bottle under the sink and just developed this 80S neg yesterday. . . it's marked 9/14, so like fine wine..... It's a small world. Went to the Kailua Farmers Market and met Fabio. We were talking and soon discovered that he went to boot camp with my son in San Diego. They served in the same unit and did two combat tours in Iraq together. Both are out of the Corps pursuing other interests now.

Leica M6, HP5, DD-X, Epson 850.
