Getting Rid of Banding

Recommended Posts

“Isn't laughing at someone's helpful input discrediting them as well?“

No.

My post was clear.

You are free to infer any offense your ego requires.

“It does take practice on a wide range of colorful images in order to get to know the nuances applied to luminance appearances. It's a lot more refined than getting the same results shooting B&W film.”

Your very post clearly indicated you find the process to be more complicated than shooting B&W film.

You can do whatever you like.

If you prefer hours of diddling with software to some job you had in the past, go for it.

Or not.

Either way I will continue to be amused, and laugh when the mood, thread, or post prompts me....

“So you don't think it's easier and quicker to get B&W conversions out of digital color images?”

How do you feel about getting Black and White digital images out of Black and White digital film images.

Is that easier.....;)

Oh, OK, yeah, now it's clear. You're just being argumentative. I get it.

But yes, it is easier to bring out a lot of detail converting to B&W a digital color image captured with a DSLR in ACR/LR than shooting/processing B&W film. I'ld rather keep my hands dry from processing chemicals and not have to work in a darkroom. I love tweaking software sliders working with the lights on and there's no more dust to keep an eye on and have to clean up after a long session in the darkroom and finding I didn't thoroughly clean the copy stand and exposure platen only to find more dust to scrape off or re-shoot and reprocess the film in the darkroom. Now that's extremely boring tedium and a big PITA.

I have no darkroom.

I simply scan the negatives and print them.

But for me it’s not a job.

It’s an adventure.

As for this;

“....You’re just being argumentative”

I simply do not take myself nor you as seriously as you do.

You made it argumentative by inferring what wasn’t implied.

Lighten up, you’ll live longer.
