count_chocula
Hi all, I'm looking for a peli case (or equivalent) for a Nikon D810 with a Sigma 24mm ART lens. I'd like for it to be able to hold another lens, as well as some little accessories (batteries, charger, sd cards, dessicant, etc.). The iM2200 Storm seems to fit the bill (just 6" tall, but should be enough), but wondering if there are other, better options? Thanks, Allie
dennisbrown
I just bought a Mamiya 100-200mm zoom, which came in a Pelican 1450 case. It has the pluckable foam in it, but I just ordered a padded divider set for it. It seems just right for my D750 and a couple of lenses, and a few goodies. The padded dividers are a must for me. The specs for the two are almost identical.
Ed_Ingold
Pluckable foam is the right choice for shipping specialized equipment, but is not well suited for general use. The packing density is very low, so you can't hold much equipment, and it can't be changed once set. Pelican has adjustable partition kits for may cases, which make more sense for general use. John Di Leo
I am using both the 1450 and the 1550 to travel, including on the back of a mototcycle. They work fine. I am usually carrying the d810 (formerly d700), with 24/70 attached and the 16-35/4 and the 70-200/2.8. There is room for a 55 micro, battery cleaning cloth. They work great.
