Uhooru
I developed a weird problem on my Fuji. For some reason, the camera ISO won't go below 800. The number 800 turns orange in the viewfinder. I've looked at the settings in menu for min-max ISO settings and every other ISO related switch I can find but no matter what number on the manual ISO dial I set below 800, it still shows 800 in the viewfinder. Does anyone know of some setting switch to stop that from happening? Thanks in advance for any help you might have.
Sanford
Try a full camera reset.
Uhooru
Tried it, but maybe I didn't do it correctly, will give another go. Thanks Sanford. P.S. I had only partially reset it, full reset did it! You da man Sanford!
Sanford
While my XE1 has been excellent, my XT10 had and still has issues including scrambling of the settings.
Uhooru
Funny, I did something, I was changing some routine setting and I inadvertently touched something at the wrong time and then my problem occurred. I just didn't register what it was I changed. It was one of those things where I was doing something in the menu and my other hand inadvertently pressed something, I don't know. Anyways, do you have the latest firmware for the XT10? Are you having to reset on a regular basis?
Sanford
It must have been something I touched inadvertently. Its a tiny camera with many unmarked assignable function buttons, most of which I have set to do nothing just for that reason. The button I had set for focus area somehow got changed to something else, metering I think. I was stuck outdoors digging through the menus trying to get it back. I've had the rubber cover and thumb rest come off, the optional grip came apart in my hand (both screws fell out). Fuji sent me replacements gratis for my out of warranty camera. A few days ago the trash button rotated rotated 45 degrees and no longer works. I can still use the camera but I don't think I want to anymore. The XE1 will have to do. I've been using my old Nikon D300 a lot lately. Now there was a great and reliable camera.
Allen Herbert
Press the wrong buttons, in the wrong order, the camera has a brain storm. Had same problem with my Nikon D600 had to do a full reset.
donbright
Partial reset? Full reset? Ae we talking about a simple turning off and on of the camera? Or is there something else I'm not aware of?
Sanford
In the first page of the "Wrench" settings on my Fuji XE1, there is a setting called "Reset". This will return most of the settings to way the camera came out of the box. This should be used as a last resort because its a nightmare getting things back the way you like them. Uhooru
Partial reset? Full reset? Ae we talking about a simple turning off and on of the camera? Or is there something else I'm not aware of? Don, when you want to reset the camera settings to default, on the Fuji there's a shooting menu reset and below that is a set-up reset. When trying to solve my problem, I had reset the shooting menu thinking that's where the problem would be. I'm calling that a partial reset. After Sanford's help I looked and realized there were 2 resets. Resetting those (full reset) solved my problem. (hopefully). Hope that helps. lee_shively
You probably had DR set to 400. That changes ISO to 800.
Uhooru
Thanks Lee. That may have happened but it would have been inadvertent as I've never messed with the DR, ........knowingly:)
