michael_levy3
When I bought my Camera just over 2 years ago, it came with what I thought was a perpetual, non subscription, license for Adobe Lightroom. I like Lightroom, and I thought that the license was a good incentive for the Camera. I am a good computer citizen, and so I update my computer software when I am told an update is available. Well it seems now that the latest couple of updates from Adobe have crippled functionality that worked before. They have added a "Dehaze" slider (thank you), but, without any warning, the Vibrance and Saturation sliders are now deactivated, and the sliders on the HSL/Color/B&W tabs are not working at all. I know that (with several hours of work) I can somehow find an older version and reinstall it, but my point is that, if this is a deliberate ploy by Adobe to force me to move to a subscription, then it is extremely unethical. digitaldog
Something is wrong as Vibrance and Saturation isn’t “disabled”. What version? You sure you don’t have the panels set off? michael_levy3
I have 7.3.1 on a Mac. I have been chatting with an Adobe agent for some time now. The two sliders are visible, but they are dark. Clarity and Dehaze are white. OK, the adobe agent tells me that this is a known bug in Version 7 of Lightroom for the Mac. He is suggesting I go back to version 6.
michael_levy3
OK, clarification: I installed 6 when I got my Camera. Part of that installed included CreativeCloud. Turns out, when I saw the update notifications for Lightroom, I should have ignored them, because I was using the perpetual license. So I have two options here: 1) Go back to 6 or 2) Pony up for a subscription. I am not too mad at Adobe: the product is good, but, my word, they have made life SO complicated with there naming and changes.

What if you change GPU setting in preference, quit and restart? keith_b1
Note: the last perpetual license Lightroom was/is 6.14. If you have 7.something, that is the CC version. As a user of the perpetual version of Lightroom ONLY, I noticed sometime after they introduced the CC version that, during an update, a CC updater was installed on my computer. Suddenly a 'CC' icon was displayed on my Lightroom menu bar, even though I had not subscribed to anything CC. The CC updater constantly tried to trick me into somehow "declaring" to Adobe that what I really wanted was CC(subscription). It was sleazy to attempt by Adobe to take advantage of less-than-fully-aware home users and to trick them into asking for CC. I recall that I accidentally clicked it at one point, and ended up having to fully delete, and then reinstall LR6. Based on my experience, I recommend to completely delete Lightroom CC/7.x or whatever it is that you have accidentally switched to. Then delete any app that has the CC logo, there might be several. Leave the Adobe AAM updater in place, or delete it as well. Your fresh install of LR6 will re-establish the AAM updater if you delete it. Have your LR6 serial number ready. Reinstall LR6.0 Then bring LR6.0 up to 6.14 using the Adobe updates for LR6. Edited April 26, 2018 by keith_b|1
michael_levy3
Turning off GPU did not help. See the screenshot - notice that Vibrance and Saturation are disabled. As I said above, the issue seems to be that I should not be using version 7 at all.

Just for the heck of it,, I would try uninstall - reboot - and reinstall before giving up I have the same updated version on Windows (7.3.1) and everything is working. digitaldog
Is it possible you're viewing an image that is NOT in color? One that you maybe set to Black & White in Treatment or with a Monochrome profile? Because doing so will gray out those two sliders (they can't work on B&W images of course). This has been the expected behavior for a very long time (I see it in LR5!). digitaldog
If you were running version 7 without a license, seems none of Develop (and Map) module functionality would work, at least that’s what happens when you let a subscription lapse. The other modules will still function (you don’t lose your DAM). JDMvW
I have a fully licensed copy of Creative Suite 5.5. I temporarily upgraded to Photoshop 6, but for various reasons decided to stay with the older version which does everything I know and use. While I can still use it (it works under High Sierra, but a little weirdly at times, it will NOT run under whatever replaces High Sierra), I don't have to worry about support from Adobe one way or the other. When it dies, when and if I ever leave High Sierra, I will deal with the question then. I'm thinking about building a cabin in the forest, getting a generator, windmill, and solar panels, and becoming a "unicomputer".
