Film Camera Week for April 13

Recommended Posts

Recently , probably the last 3-4 film scans, I get these black lines , on top or side , or both

It looks like edge of frame, Erko. I don't know what scanning software you're using but I get this effect if the marquee I've drawn to select the area I want scanned overlaps the edge of the negative. I just crop it out in PP.

Here are some samples from a series I've been working on entitled "Life in the Service Lane", indulging my fascination with the areas behind the glitzy frontages of the bars and cafes. The camera was the Mamiya 645 1000s with a Mamiya Sekor 55-105mm f/4.5 lens and the film is Arista EDU Ultra 100 developed in PMK Pyro. Scans are from an Epson V700 Photo using Epson software, for a change.

I love stuff like this; the reality behind the pretty facades. As you've shown, it can also be pretty. I hope someone rescues the chair in 004. If it's a reproduction, it's worth $150. If it's original mid-century, it's worth double that.
