Weekly Post Processing Challenge 7th April 2018

Another weekly challenge.

 

If anyone else would like to post next week please give it a go, upload a High resolution jpeg. Just indicate by Wednesday next in this thread if you are willing to try.

 

Remember there are no rules you can do what you wish in your interpretation, please can you give information of the steps taken and software used to add interest.

 

It is not meant as a competition just a bit of fun.

Adjusted tonal values in Color Efex, pro contrast filter. Then, also in Color Efex, used graduated fog filter (bright preset). Sharpened with NIK Output Sharpener, then back to Color Efex to add white vignette. P.S. Adjusted saturation using PSE15's sponge tool

LR to adjust shadows / highlights and crop from top. DEFINE2 for noise reduction. Film Noir 2 preset in Silver efex pro 2

Cropped, converted to B&W in NIK SilverEfex, applied tonal contrast filter with increased mid-tone and highlight structure to bring out the snow flakes, added sepia toning and a border to give it an antique look.

Thought I'd try a monochrome version, as well. Initial step - used PSE levels to boost shadow and darken midtones. Converted to b&w and added preset sepia toning in Silver Efex.

Tried to emphasize the snow and sleet.

In Lightroom used selenium tone preset, +20 highlights,straightened horizon, exported to photoshop. Selenium toned my image of sailboat sent to photoshop and combined, made smart object and resized, layer mask. The hardy sailor is braving the elements in a short sleeved shirt. Aaargh!

All adjustments in LR. Started by finding and straightening the horizon and cropping. Then moving sliders to accentuate the snow, ended up with a whiteout. Used curves to increase contrast and then decided to stop.

At the rest of wearing out my welcome, I decided to try a b&w version. Converted to b&w in Silver Efex. Adjust levels in PSE15. Added white vignette in Color Efex. One more slight levels adjustment.
