Fuji GA 645... freezing

Have you tried fresh batteries? You might also make sure that the battery contacts are not corroded. You might also make sure that film is loaded properly, and that the 120/220 setting is correct. Mine has a problem once when I forgot to change the 120/220 setting and it gave problems somewhat like what you are describing.

I had a freezing problem once with my GA645... just wouldn't take a picture and had an odd readout on the LCD I didn't understand. I switched it off and on. I took out & cleaned the batteries & contacts, then put in new batteries, no change, very frustrating. Finally I found a room that could be made dark, opened the back to take out the film, and found it had already been wound fully onto the takeup spool. Hmmmmmmm

The problem? I had come to the end of the roll but didn't hear/feel it run the film fully onto the reel. Pretty dumb huh? :-)
