mountainanddesertadventure
I would like to share my site with others to enjoy. How can this be done without others uploading or down loading to my site? It seems if I send them a link they can make changes if they want? I would like to list on my RV's card for others to share. Charles_Webster
If you post photos here on Photo.net, no one but you can upload or change them. Of course if you post photos anywhere on the internet, people can download or copy them. If you send someone a link to your galley here, that gives them only the ability to see and of course download them. No one can change your photos here without your password. Andrew Garrard
If this is a general web site question, it depends how the web site is set up. I suspect in most cases where someone is offering a private photo web site service, you should have a private link and password that you can connect to and upload images, but then a public link that you can give out. For so long as your user name and password are private, others shouldn't be able to put photos on your site. But it does depend on how the site works. I suspect this is a question for whoever's handling your web site? If you're talking about your portfolio on Photo.net, Charles is correct - others should be able to see it with a link, but shouldn't be able to modify the images without your password. William Michael
I think that you need to explain more precisely what you want to do. > What "site" do you want to share? > What is an "RV's card"? WW
paddler4
Sites like Smugmug give you substantial control over this. For example, I have both public and private galleries. To get to a private gallery, you need a link from me. You can control what access viewers have to your photos on each gallery. For example, my private galleries have unrestricted access because I want the people to whom I give the link to be able to download the full-size image. In contrast, I limit the size that people can take from my public galleries. In no case can anyone else modify anything on my site. One can do this only by logging in, and no one else has my password.

Andrew Garrard
Ah - I was used to that definition of RV, but I wasn't clear about how one has a "card". :-) I'm glad we seem to have answered your question; please let us know more details if we can elaborate!
