Andrew Garrard
Belatedly, but since I'm trying to use Wednesdays to encourage me to go out and shoot, and there was actually nice weather on a lunch break when it was still just about Wednesday in Howland Island, you get these this week... Historically I've used my 14-24 for odd views of people in confined spaces, or to handle wide landscape vistas. But I keep hearing I should be using a wide angle by getting really close to the subject, so here are some experimental almost-macro shots near the close focus distance. 14-24, f/7.1, D810 cropped to 1:1. Slightly blown highlights because I still can't make highlight priority do the right thing.
Andrew Garrard
Finally, just proving it's spring and the daffodils are out. Incidentally, all of these were shot with a very low camera, shooting blind at arm's length, since I wasn't feeling very bendy. My future plans for a D850 and a tilt screen would have helped.
