Julio Fernandez
Mike, I mixed this DK-50 from a can that came from my late father; it made 1 gallon of stock solution. The can must be more than 50 years old, but the developer worked fine (although now, 3 months after mixing, it has a nice strong yellow hue). It is not exactly a fine-grain developer; should be excellent for 4x5". If you need a developer to show grain, this is the one.
Mike Gammill
My first experience with DK-50 was around 1975 when my dad gave me an old can of it to process a roll of Kodak 2475 (High Speed Recording Film). I don't recall if we used the rest or it or not now. But during the last decade I used it again, mainly for sheet film, which I prefer to do in a tray rather than tank. It is a strong, clean working developer and I used it mostly for 4x5 Plus-X and some of the cold stored Super XX that I've been hoarding. The Super XX expired in 1984 but the amount of fog it had wasn't bad. I'm considering getting a box of 4x5 Ilford FP4+ for the next time I shoot any appreciable amount of film in my Crown Graphic.

rick_drawbridge
@rick- have you run any film through those Instamatics? No, Mike, while I have a few old 126 cartridges I could experiment with, I've never really felt the urge to go there. Losing the bottom 20% of the frame to sprocket holes is rather a deterrent... davidscott
Agfa Selectaflex, Ambion 35mm lens, FP4+ in DK-50 1+1. Julio, very nice shot. You've made me look up the Selectaflex, which is a new one for me. What a handsome camera! I've always had a soft spot for the Zeiss Contaflex and the whole idea of a leaf shutter SLR in 35mm. I wonder if the Selectaflex is easier to keep in serviceable condition than the Contaflex? It looks like the shutters are built into the lenses? Don Harpold
Hello First Congratulations Mike and family Here are a couple from the "new" Leica IIIg with a "new" Elmar 5cm 2.8 the film is Kentmere 100 developed in HC110 Dil.B at 72 degrees these came out grainy so not a dilution I will probably use again . The first roll of HP5 did not come out because of the Pyrocat HD I had an issue again, not sure what is going on with that stuff, driver error or??? Sorry just realized these are on another forum so if you peruse that forum don't look :) couple of trash cans lamp and palms Apts
Mike Gammill
Don, I use the "nonofficial" dilution H for souping Kentmere 100 in HC110. I use 68F for 8' agitating 5 inversions every 30" with initial 15" agitation to start.
Don Harpold
Hello Mike I checked the Mass develop chart and it showed : Kentmere 100 HC-110 Dil. H 16 min 20C So I went with the shorter time and the Dil. B I will have to try the Dil. H
Mike Gammill
I generally use dilution B for Kodak film. I tend to get better tonality with Ilford and Kentmere at dilution H. I like my results from HP5+ for dilution H if I process for 11 minutes.
