rossb
The Leica M6 is beautiful without a doubt. Frequently worn as jewelry. However my vote would go to the Haddelblad 501CM. I was trying to stay in the 40 year parameter is the reason I did not include the Leica M3.
Sandy Vongries
Mum used to say, "Handsome is as handsome does." I do prefer my DF to Black plastic globs like my D 750, but it also works better, at least for me.
JDMvW
My three most attractive cameras are the Contax S, the Heiland Pentax H2, and the Nikon F with the plain prism -- as I've said before in posts more or less contemporary with this RE-ANIMATED thread from 2015. That's what a eye-level SLR should look like!
Glenn McCreery
While I haven't changed my mind about the jade green Toyo VX125, the most beautiful camera that I ever actually owned was a Rolleiflex 3.5E. I used to like like to take it out and just stare at all the lovely machining details. I sold it to purchase a Fuji GS645, which better suited my photography, but was no beauty. Wilmarco Imaging
Canon FX: classic late 60's SLR with great features - self timer, meter and mirror lock up. A bit outside of the 40 year window. Mamiya RB67 Pro SD with Prism Model 2. Bigger is better. Rollei 600X series: Bigger is better and it's a Rollei. Hasselblald XPan: slim and cool with an interesting image format. Wouter Willemse
They made a camera out of an avocado! Avocado, Olive.....some sort of green anyway :) Luckily, the Werra also exist in black, for those who do not like the olive. Or avocado. IMHO very pretty cameras, so I'd add my vote to the Werra. Brilliant clean design, simple and nice to use. Purely for looks, for sure my prefered camera, and good fun to take out every now and then. As a camera, I'd prefer a bunch of others, but I can't say I find any of those good looking devices. I can understand votes for the Leica M3/M2/M4, though. For a SLR, I kind of like the looks of my black Leica R6 (unassuming, simple) but pretty ...? Not really.
