rossb
It's too bad all parking lots don't have views like that. Nice shot! Thank you for looking. Yosemite has a lot of beautiful places close to your car and all but it's a horribly crowded place.

davecaz
I believe this sign is now LED, as a replacement for the original neon one. The Western View Steakhouse & Coffee Shop has been open since 1941. Do you mean it's been replaced since you took the photo, or the one in the photo is the replacement? It doesn't look like LED to me. But, maybe they've advanced what they can do with LEDs more than I'm aware.
davecaz
Thank you for looking. Yosemite has a lot of beautiful places close to your car and all but it's a horribly crowded place. Yes, I agree. I was lucky enough to spend a week there, a few years ago, and it was very crowded. But, I found it worthwhile, and it wasn't too difficult to get away from the masses. I'd really like to go back for another visit earlier in the year, when the waterfalls are still flowing.

I know they have a great reputation, but I'm not sure I've seen many photos from them. I actually have one, but it got shelved when other priorities arose, and I never got back to it. I should give it a try one of these days.
James G. Dainis
Mike, congratulations on your new granddaughter, Gramps. Try to limit posting pictures of her to two dozen or so. James G. Dainis
davecaz
Great photos, everyone. And as of just before 5 PM yesterday, my wife and I have a granddaughter. Very considerate of the child to time her arrival so conveniently for the family :) I apparently was not so considerate, choosing to appear at 2:10AM. Lol! Congrats to all, and best wishes to the mother.

But, maybe they've advanced what they can do with LEDs more than I'm aware. The sign was apparently upgraded two years ago. Modern LED flex tubing looks very similar to neon. Mike Gammill
Thanks, Bill. Right now I have a bulk roll of HP5+ I'm using. I like the way it looks in HC110 dilution B. But I do have a roll of Tri-X in cold storage for later.

Andy Collins
In the recent "70's Rangefinder camera choice?" thread I posted a photograph of the Konica SII rangefinder. As Mike Gammill noted, the original Konica advertising claimed that "The lens alone is worth the price", and I tend to agree; the 48mm Hexanon f/2 really is an exceptional lens. I loaded a length of Arista EDU Ultra 100 and took the camera for some photography at a derelict railroad siding, and I was impressed, as always, by the crisp and contrasty results.. The film was developed in PMK Pyro and scanned on an Epson V700 Photo using Silverfast SE software. If I shot these scenes, they'd be the most boring and banal shots ever! Very nice as always!
