Film Camera Week for March 2

Recommended Posts

Welcome everyone to our new thread. As usual, post all the photos you like from your film camera. I'll start with a few.

If tree looks familiar I had a closer view of it taken with SRT 101 recently.

Some vintage neon signs along the old Route 66 through Albuquerque. Taken in January with Honeywell Pentax ES II, SMC Takumar 55/1.8, Kodak UltraMax 400 (handheld).

Continuing with the color vibe I have received some color work from the drugstore. The fist set is from the Yashica-Mat 124, they were a little soft, and I first blamed this on the scans, but now blame me or the focus on the camera. The film was my last roll of Ektar 100. The second group is from my Contaflex Super "B" . Very pleased that I was able to re-assemble this after 2 years. A big shout out to CMC guru Brett Rogers, down under I believe. This was your generic drugstore 200ASA (fuji?) The third group is from a lowly Adox folder with a 6.3 lens which I obtained for a very low price albeit I also patched the bellows. This was Lomo's "Earl Grey" (fomopan?) souped in D76 1:1

This Tessar often renders skies this deep blue, is this due to the coating or the reputed "new" formula they used alleged for this model?

I then to take the same walks and those same landmarks as well as the same views present themselves, forgive the repetition

Despite the "ar" I'm pretty sure this is a triplet. Ok in the center.

El Camino

It took me a good 5 seconds to figure out that the bottom part says vacancy. They need to wrap some electrical tape around the connecting bits, to black them out. Nice shot, though.

Model Pharmacy

Now this one is interesting because they have apparently replaced the RM in pharmacy relatively recently. It's also interesting the original fabricator blacked out the connectors on the PHA, but that is missing from the ACY. And from the RM. But, I really like the script on MODEL. You don't see that very often.

Nice shot, too.

Four frames from a roll of Fuli Superia 200 taken on a recent trip to one of our offshore islands. The camera was a Praktica BX-20 with a 70-210mm Prakticar f/4-5.6 lens.

Looks like a lovely place for a get away. It's impressive that you got the sparrows sharp while they were bobbing around in the wind on those grass stems.

Lovely shots of the Super B and the Adox. Surprisingly, I like the results from the Adox the best. And, what an odd logo! Is that a single quote?

Livery stable at Columbia Calif. Shot with Leica MP and Superia. I am not much of a color film guy as I do not develop it and the closest lab is 50miles away. However I am going on a 3 week backpacking trip in July from Yosemite Valley to Mount Whitney and thought I would shoot color on the way. I am satisfied with Superia for that. I love the Leica MP as a camera but was having trouble sleeping because of the money I spent on it so yesterday I sent it back. Now I cannot sleep because I let it go. Anyway bad for my emotions all around.

My sympathies, Ross, having been in that situation many times. Time heals, and perhaps you should look around for another camera you've hankered after, something a little less costly. The world's full of interesting cameras that take great pictures!
