douglas_cummings
Who makes the best for the vx2000? The canon wd58 distorts edges a bit though it is sharp.
martin_davidson1
I have tried a number of these on my VX1000, and the Sony one is the best of the (not very great) bunch. But for under a hundred quid, what do you expect? Professional video cameras have proper wide angle lenses -- semi-pro (like the VX1/2000) and amateur ones, dont. The only other thing to try might me the wideangle adapter made for, say, a Canon G1 digital stills camera (via a 52-58 step up ring); but as the reviews that I have read of this also mention distortion, I wouldnt hold my breath. john_burnley
The best ones are made by Century Precision, available at B&H Photo and elsewhere. They do not lower sharpness of the prime lens at all and are sharp to the corners. Expect to pay in the $300 range ... and up. Well worth it if your use is at all serious.
