Mike Gammill
In Starkville, the construction continues. Plenty of good photo ops as new structures go up. Sometimes I just park and walk around the area with my camera. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

rick_drawbridge
Several years ago I unearthed a box of old negatives dating back to the 1970's. With the rather limited scanning gear I then had available I attempted to resurrect a few of these images, taken during my time as a duck shooting enthusiast, but the results were really pretty awful, though I think I may have posted a couple to the Forum in various threads. The box resurfaced last month and I decided to try again, with much improved results. The film was Kodak Vericolor, but much of the film has deteriorated beyond redemption, and I won't waste time trying to salvage any more. The old negatives were all neatly filed with the taking information inscribed on the brown manilla envelopes. I was a working photographer back in 1973 when these were taken, and far more methodical than I am now, and this must have been a box of personal stuff I took with me when I changed employment. The camera was apparently a Canon FTb fitted with a Soligor 70-220mm f3.5 Macro lens. Mike Gammill
Great images everyone and a great start to our weekly thread. I'll be processing some more film and scanning over the weekend. I've really enjoyed using my Rollei 35. Found an old favorite that I've had since college to put on my SRT 101: a Celtic 28mm f2.8. Got for Christmas in 1978.

davecaz
Tried again with a smaller file size but nada. Any suggestions? I'm seeing the file as an attachment to your previous post. I don't see anything on this post. What method are you trying to use, the Upload a File button below the text box or the Image button in the editing buttonbar? I have not found the Image button to work, but the Upload a File button does.
Mike Gammill
I just copy the image from its folder and past it here with my text. Seems to work for me. FWIW, I'm using Firefox.
davecaz
My new scanner has got me digging up old photos and digitizing some of the better ones. These were taken with my Minolta 7000i on Kodak Gold 400 while on vacation to Prince Edward Island, Canada. We were there in May of 98. These particular shots were probably taken with the crappy Sigma lenses I had at the time. I'm guessing they rotated crops between fields. Their primary crop is potatoes, which do have a distinct flavor from the red soil. We used to buy them fairly often when I lived in Boston, but they don't seem to sell them out here in AZ. It's rather a small island, so they use pretty much all the land, right up to the shore. An Axe Murderer-free zone?
Mike Gammill
Which Sigma lenses did you have, davecaz? For my first Maxxum (a 5000), I had a Sigma 75-300 f4.5-5.6. I was pleased with its performance, but when I moved up to an 8000i the Sigma wouldn't work with it. Instead of having it re-chipped I bought a Maxxum 100-300 iSeries instead. rick_drawbridge
Tried again with a smaller file size but nada. Any suggestions? Drop the image files you want to post into a temporary folder, eg "Photonet Friday 23 2" Open that folder with File Explorer or your favourite image viewer and shift the window off to the side and down. Open the Forum thread over the top of it. Select more "More Options" for the dialogue box. If text is require, type it in and then move the cursor to where you want the image to be placed. Drag and drop the image from the File Explorer page into the dialogue box. It will take a few seconds to load. Make sure the cursor is still in the correct position and select "Full Image" in the image list. The cursor will reappear at the bottom of the image. Repeat this process as often as you like. The cursor dictates the placement and can be used to move the image up and down. When you've finished, hit "Reply to Thread" Well, that's how I do it but there are obviously other ways. Incidentally, for good screen fit, I size vertical format to 850 pixels high and horizontal to 1000 pixels wide. Having to scroll images up and down is tedious.
