We missed the 24th, so I'm back-filling, with another image from Prince Edward Island. Shot on Kodak Gold with a Minolta 7000i, scanned on an Epson V370 Photo (I wish they didn't have both Photo and non-Photo versions of the 370), and converted to a toned B&W version using Topaz BW Effects 2. 20180224_123_123-Edit-SM.thumb.jpg.be1a4aa0e2e74a8cab969a5fce50079a.jpg

Nice one, Dave. I've always been intrigued by Prince Edward Island...

Knot

Thanks, Rick! My wife prefers the color version, but I think the color is distracting.

I decided to visit PEI because my paternal grandfather was born there. We've pretty much established that the migration went Scotland to Ireland to PEI to Boston, but the details are lost to history due to poor record keeping and fires. That's the source of my interest. What got you interested?

And what was tethered with that interesting hitch?

Dave, I became interested when I read " Anne of Green Gables" at about the age of thirteen, Lucy Maud Montgomery's famous novel which drew inspiration from the island. Being island dwellers in New Zealand, we share many marine features and our southern islands have a similar climate, we have a similar history of colonisation and the same parliamentary system of government, with Queen Elizabeth as the constitutional monarch. I think I could slip into life on Prince Edward Island without too much difficulty...

The very informal knot merely secured a rope that divided off a section of cobblestones under repair.

I'll have to keep my eyes open for any shots I may have gotten of the Green Gables cottage. I recall not having much time to photograph it due to the light fading, but I may have gotten one or two shots.

Tractions

I see a prancing horse. Is that a Ferrari tractor? I don't know if I've ever seen one, but I know that was their primary business in the beginning.

I also noticed a signature. I don't think I've seen that, before, either.
