Weekly Post Processing Challenge 10th February 2018

Another weekly challenge.

 

If anyone else would like to post next week please give it a go, upload a High resolution jpeg. Just indicate by Wednesday next in this thread if you are willing to try.

 

Remember there are no rules you can do what you wish in your interpretation, please can you give information of the steps taken and software used to add interest.

 

It is not meant as a competition just a bit of fun.

Photoshop: Crop maintaining aspect ratio of original. Convert to black and white using individual color channels. Very slight levels and curves adjustments. Just a hint of warm toning.

 

PSE14, crop, adjust levels, saturation, add artistic filter & lens flare.

LR...crop, adjust shadows / highlights. Define2...noise reduction...Silver Efex Pro 2...Antique preset filter.

Straightened the building side, cloned bushes and added to foreground in front of shed, cropped, and converted to black and white in Silver Efex. Added red filter, selenium tone, and vignette. Finally, I decided that, since the light was in the center of the image, it should be shining.

Made a selection of the building copy to a layer, flipped Horizontally, cloning and healing tools to blend. I thought the shed looked too much like an trash bin.

I decided to go with b&w before I saw the monochrome versions others already have posted, for whatever that's worth.

 

Initially, in PSE, I straightened the church spires and then cropped from the left side. Thereafter I adjusted the aspect ration to create a square format, since I wanted the emphasis on the church. Then I went to Silver Efex for conversion to b&w, tonal, and sharpness adjustments. Finally, in PSE15, I used the dodging tool to brighten the street lamp's glass panes.

Symmetrical painted cathedral attempt: Dynamic Auto-Painter, cropping, Smart Photo Editor filter, spot healing brush in PS.

Tom, your version convinced me. I'm buying Smart Photo Editor.

Thanks, Tom. I tried twice earlier today to buy the program and was unsuccessful. Will try again soon.

My second attempt. This time auto-corrections in DXO Viewpoint, application of a Fuji Velvia lut I found online, and a few levels adjustments.

 

Thanks to all who have had a go, they are all excellent. Now it's my turn to let the side down.

A combination of Lightroom and Silver Efex to turn day into night. I didn't make a note of the steps taken and now can't remember. I'll let others decide if it works even with some mysterious light sources.
