beto_jimenez
Reflex-Korelle III with Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar f/2.8 8cm. I believe was manufactured in 1939, possibly the last model produced by Franz Kochmann before the war. It is in Mint Condition except for the shutter the lags (does not close all the way as you can see in the far right pic). Has anyone had any experience with this particular model iii? Thank you. joecsik
Hello, I also have a Korelle III with jammed shutter. did you have luck to repair yours? I badly need mine repaired somehow, since it has unique lenses which I can't other-ways use. regards :-)
Rick_van_Nooij
The consensus on these is that they're made not to work. :(
rodeo_joe1
Nearly all FP shutters have separate tensioning springs for each 'roller blind'. A sticking curtain indicates a weakened or broken spring, or too much friction in the track for the curtain... or both. A good clean, by wiping or blowing any debris from the shutter guides is a start. Followed by cleaning of the roller pivots and re-lubrication (in very tiny amounts) thereof. Beyond that, you need to relieve the curtain spring tension - usually by lifting the claw of a ratchet - and slowly re-tension until an even slit-width is achieved across the speed range. The last requires an optical shutter tester with moveable light sensor. Or a very good eye for consistent brightness! "I also have a Korelle III with jammed shutter. did you have luck to repair yours? I badly need mine repaired.." - Badly needing a Reflex Korelle is desperation indeed! It's like badly needing a Citroen CV2 as a means of transport. Edited December 11, 2018 by rodeo_joe|
chuck_foreman1
I've been on this forum for years.. I knew RvN has actually toyed with this model and expected and enjoyed his response. but Hahaaa Rodeo_joe... that was a great response.. ... to the second guy. AS Rick said these are notorious for not ever working right. They were an amazing camera at an amazing time. The promise wasn't quite fulfilled which only made the desire greater. Rick_van_Nooij
I've toyed with the idea of owning one, but I've been disuaded by all the negative press I've found in my research on them; Including opinions here on Photo.Net.
