bob_bill
Matt, thanks for the info and the photo set up. They had to love those shots. Got to love that Buff gear. Have you ever tried the Buff strip that has a silver lining without a diffuser as the body light? I find the scales on each hair really reflect the specularity of that modifier giving the coat a luxurious sheen. I too use a kicker but a separate light, a gridded 22" beauty dish on the head to pull the eye there and create the catch light or just do it in post either brightening that area or vignetting. I mix it up some, Bob. Sometimes I do use a beauty dish, or sometimes a big octobox. We shoot these litters just often enough that it feels good to give each batch a slightly different feel, just cuz.
yardkat
Hi YardKat. There's something funky going on with PNet and yours and Heimbrant's photos. I tried to like them, but it doesn't work. So you photo may be liked by amny, but none show up. Love the Corgi model. We've got 2 real ones. Interesting, IDK what was up, but I see your likes today. (Thank you!!!!) I had trouble replying to a post yesterday as well, just would not post. So maybe there was something up with the server. (BTW, I have a weakness for the herding dogs, we have Australian Shepherds.) bob_bill
You are doing custom work as well. It is why I like to tear down the set up, most lights remain on stands at all times, between clients in studio and start from scratch to prevent not customizing the shoot from the start. Andrew Garrard
By way of encouragement to the impending Nikon Wednesday on the 31st of January, I'd just like to bring everyone's attention to what my wife is fond of calling the "super blue blood moon", due tomorrow at about 1:30pm UTC. If I have my terminology right, that's a super moon (full while near perigee, closest to the earth, so large), a blue moon (second full moon of the month), and a blood moon (because there's a lunar eclipse). Sadly you can't see it from the UK because we'll be facing the sun at the time, but if anyone based nearer the Pacific can get out of bed for it, I'd love to see the image.
