Display problem after Windows 10 update

Recommended Posts

Recent windows 10 update has caused me a problem with the displays. I have the ATI Firepro V5700 and ATI doesn't have a driver for Windows 10. When I first installed Windows 10, windows install its own driver and it worked OK. After the latest major update the second monitor won't turn on at start up. I can get it to turn on by disconnecting the video cable from either the first or second monitor and reconnect. I can also make it to turn o by disable the second monitor and enable it again. I think if I undo the update it would work OK again but I don't want to lose all the updates by going back to a restore point before the update. I can't restore to the previous video driver only, the option is grayed out.

Anyone ever has similar problem and do you have a solution? Right now it's a pain but I can use it. If all else fail I may have to buy the ATI Firepro V5800 which is similar and cheap and ATI has a windows 10 driver for it.

I think you have found your own solution. Your current drivers are not supported and the latest update exposed the reason why. Microsoft will not back the update off, especially if it is security related, and the latest updates were security related.
