Thank you guys for your generous feedback, comments and contributions.

Dave - I figured that was the case. I won't be selling mine anytime soon either.

Gus - Glad I could send my lens to 'ol TLC U. She didn't even need a student loan! :o)

Mike - Wow, neat shots! The color really pops! Good luck with the 135mm too.

Mukul - LOL, Good eye! I only caught that myself right after I posted it which, of course, was too late. I had the 35mm on the body just before I took that picture. I stayed mum wondering who would have the eagle eye to catch it.

Interesting thread. I have one of these lenses, though I don't have the Canon 7. After seeing your beautifully sharp pictures I'm inspired to give it a run. I'll be using it with the Leitz 135 adaptor on my M3. I note incidentally that it takes the same size filter as the f3.4 super angulon which also fits the 200 f4.5 telyt as well as the early 90 silver summicron. I'm particularly impressed with the quality of the flower pot picture.
I assume that it will work ok on the Leica; anyone know anything to the contrary? I want to see how it compares with the f4 tele-elmar.

I acquired one of these lenses along with a Leica M-6 I bought form a friend a decade ago or more: along with several other older lenses, all fitted with adaptors for the M-6 bayonet mount.

To be honest, I didn't use it until around three years ago, when I bought a Sony Alpha 7: I now use it regularly for portraits and nudes, because of the lovely low contrast and massive tendency to flare combined with excellent sharpness. The Sony EVF makes focus easy, and models love the results.

Along with a Zeiss Softar filter and a couple of Lensbaby optics, it's now part of my essential kit...
