Weekly Post Processing Challenge 6th January 2018

Another weekly challenge.

 

If anyone else would like to post next week please give it a go, upload a High resolution jpeg. Just indicate by Wednesday next in this thread if you are willing to try.

 

Remember there are no rules you can do what you wish in your interpretation, please can you give information of the steps taken and software used to add interest.

 

It is not meant as a competition just a bit of fun.

Location Cape Cornwall and Brissons Rocks.

I started with LR, and brought up the shadows, adjusted the color and contrast a bit, cleaned up the dust spots (which LR actually couldn't see, which was odd), and used a radial filter to draw the eye to the rocks, because it seemed to lack a focal point before that. Then I took it into Topaz Clarity, which required saving it to TIF format in order to apply the LR settings. I started with their Sunny Day - Blue Sky preset, and made some minor adjustments to suit this image, and saved it back to LR.

 

The problem for me, as always, was in the conversion back to jpeg. I will be thrilled when it is no longer anyone's standard, because I never know what it's going to do to my images. In this case, it made the image garish and orange-brown toned, the first time. After a few tries involving mostly guesswork, I arrived at the version you see below.
