The suggested solution to auto refresh does not work . Not in Google Chrome on an Android device anyway.

Disabling cookies prevents login. And it makes no difference whether you tick "keep me logged in" or not.

This was never an issue on the previous site, nor is it an issue with the thousands of other sites I must have accessed. Conclusion - scripting incompetence and not user error. Please address this as a priority, instead of piddling about with hidden folders and the like. If people can't read or contribute to the page they'll never even get as far as those fineries.

Should we create a thread - "I am angry and I want to strangle Glenn?" this way we can keep those threads separate from the bug reporting threads. We'll read both - would just help with organizing hate mail vs bug mail.

I'm not angry, and I most certainly don't want to strangle you or anyone else. But I did send you a respectful email, and I am pretty annoyed that I did not get a reply other than the one lines half sentence that failed to address any of my concerns/requests.

I would greatly appreciate if you or someone could please respond to my email.

I had to log in the old-fashioned way the first time after I deleted the cookies; after that, I was able to set up the desktop short-cut, ask Safari to remember the password, and I was back to normal. I still have to log in once a day, but that's now just clicking a button. I wonder if Android devices work differently? I know others had the same problem with Chrome, but deleting cookies solved it for them, too; I don't remember what device&operating system they were using.

I have just cleared cookies, and the site still auto refreshes every couple of seconds.

Look, this is obviously not normal behaviour for any website, and users should not have to jump through such hoops. It should just work!

My workaround, as stated before, is to hit the browser cancel button to make the page stand still. And even this is hit-and-miss.

I can't see many other users having the patience to do this. So goodness knows how many potential contributers have given up and gone away. This is not a minor bug, but a major impediment to accessing the site. And why can't you even sort out the obvious bug in the reply box?

Hit return 2x, 3x if you want to give yourself some more space.

The new design surprised me, and after some tries with it, I found it was easier to leave and not come back as frequently as I have in the past, which is now down to once a week. I won't argue the old design was old, but it was simple, easy to navigate and worked. The new design is far from that.

I prefer seeing my account page than my galleries after logging it. And I still don't like the design doesn't automatically accommodate narrower browser windows to scroll left or right but jumbles it up where it's hard to see the top banner options. And overall it's seems it's more about looks than use.

Hi Glenn,

Here are just a few bugs I've encountered:

1) The link to the current "Love" photo contest rules doesn't work. So, how many photos can each member submit?

2) If I go to "critiques" within my account, it shows my photos with the number of critiques for each, but there's no way to click to view the critiques.

3) If I try to browse my galleries, by clicking "Galleries", it displays exactly one gallery. How do I view the rest of them?

4) The Gallery Folder Sort feature is very cumbersome to use. If you have numerous folders and want to move one to the opposite end of the sequence, well good luck. Try it and you'll see what I mean.

Good luck sorting things out.

The solution that you have come up with to notify us of replies to comments we have made on other member's pictures is not a good answer. Take a look at the number of comments I have made in the past. Can you imagine what my e-mail inbox would look like? You had a perfectly workable, easy to use system in the three lists from the old system, conveniently located on your work space page: comments you have made; comments you have received; and follow up comments. Is it a technical impossibility to simply bring these lists back? I'm not being sarcastic; that's a real question.

Excellent comments, Jack. Just because PN2.0-2 is flashier and has better displays doesn't mean it's as workable for subscribers & members as PN1.

 • 4 weeks later...
Still required to enter e-mail and password each time I attempt to log in.

This is becoming a major nuisance. I am not blocking cookies.

Update, 1 month later.

This problem persists and no apparent effort to find a cure.

Don't know whether or not you care, but my visits to the site have gone from daily to now once a week or less frequent.

None of the browsers I use is able to auto fill the sign-in data.

What browsers are you using? Autofill works for me in both Chrome and Safari.

You may need to go into your browser preferences and enable the autofill option (google "enable autofill [browser name]" and that should get you instructions for doing so)

Leslie, my desktop browser autofills the info but I don't know a way to get my iPhone or iPad to do so, so every day or so I have to key in that information on both my iPad and iPhone, which I'd prefer not to have to do. Do you know of a way to get the iPhone and iPad to be more automatic?

I am using MS Explorer and Firefox. I cannot find a way to cause either to autofill.

In Firefox v48.0.2 Preferences>Privacy section under "Logins" make sure the check box next to "Remember Logins For Sites" is checked. The way it finally worked for me after I'ld checked this was to re-enter the password even when autofill showed the dots where it invoked the Firefox pop-up dialog box asking to remember password. You might need to clear PN cookies within Firefox which is the entire PN folder.

I don't use Safari or Chrome on my 2010 MacMini OS 10.6.8.

I went looking for the Autofill setting in Preferences and couldn't find it. In Advanced tab>General>Accessibility where it has a check box next to "Search for text when I start typing". Maybe that's the autofill selector. I can't believe I can't find it specifically named within Firefox interface.

I did some digging around, and this is what I found on what looks like a very useful computer-help website (link); let me know whether one of these works for you:

Microsoft Internet Explorer

 1. Open Internet Explorer.
 2. Click Tools (gear-shaped icon) in the upper right-hand corner.
 3. Select Internet Options from the drop-down menu.
 4. Under the Content tab, in the Autocomplete section, click the Settings button.
 5. Within this window, you can select the fields in which you'd like to store Autocomplete data by using the check boxes. This action turns Autocomplete On or Off based on what boxes are checked.
 6. Once you have made your selections, click OK.

Mozilla Firefox

 1. Open Firefox.
 2. Click Menu (icon with parallel lines) in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
 3. Select Options from the drop-down menu.
 4. Under the Privacy tab, in the History section, click the down arrow in the box next to Firefox will: and select Use custom settings for my history.
 5. A number of check boxes should appear allowing you to customize what Firefox remembers from your browsing. The box labeled Remember search and form history toggles Autocomplete On or Off.
 6. Once you have made you browsing privacy selections, click OK.

The "form history" part is what I was overlooking (or didn't see relevant) on my Mac OS Firefox Privacy section preferences where I have the box checked which answers why it's working for me. The other stuff I posted above seemed relevant but turns out has nothing to do with remembering password.

What is it with program designers and nomenclature? They're running out of obvious words to use to describe a function? I would've never found this unless Leslie posted the above. What's a "form history"? Is it a kind of history that's different than normal history? See how I'm misinterpreting one word? It's ridiculous!

Just say what you mean...like this..."Turn on autofill for remembering passwords and filling out online forms". DUH!
