Where to find a replacement battery magazine for my BG-E20

I am trying to get an extra battery magazine for my battery grip, the BG-E20. The part number on the magazine and the one listed in "Package contents", is BGM-E20L. Canon parts has no such item listed/in inventory. Does that mean when the time comes that I lose or break mine, I have to buy a new battery grip for my 5D IV?

Any suggestions?

I had the same issue with a replacement magazine for my 7D II (BG-E16) but finally found the Canon Part number to order it! (#CC341956)

Happy New Year!

I've had some luck with eBay. Have you tried calling repair shops?

Thanks for the reply.

I have found older magazines on eBay but not the one for the 5D IV. I would have thought that over a year on the market would have brought some options.

Great suggestions though! Unfortunately, I don’t have any local repair shops so I may have to keep looking online.

You could call the Canon Store or a local Canon Authorized dealer and ask. I was a bit annoyed at the higher price of the BG-E20 for my 5D MIK IV and it did not come with a second battery tray for AA Batteries as did more reasonably priced grips for the 5D Mark III. I just carry a few spare batteries when I travel. I would think they would be more durable than a battery tray laying loose in a bag or pocket. Just shooting photos, having two fully charged LP-E6N can last me a day or two depending on my shooting.
Cheers, Mark

Thanks but dealers say they need a CC part number and Canon Direct and Canon store don’t stock the item or have a part number. I spent quite a bit of time with several Canon support staff and they couldn’t believe me until they searched for it.

I use the grip for other reasons, not just for extended battery life. I can swap batteries very quick but an associate lost use of a grip (7D II) because the magazine he was using finally cracked beyond what Super Glue could repair! A new grip was the only option for almost three months before he found a Canon replacement. I don’t want the same thing to happen with my 5D IV. ( I actually have an extra magazine for my 7D II!) I understand making battery grips non-interchangeable but it would be nice if you could swap magazines!
