Does anyone have any opinions about the Kowa SER? And does anoyone know where I can get it repaired?

Kowa's optics are generally considered to be quite good, but their 35mm SLRs did not have the best reputation for reliability. Leaf-shutter SLRs are complex and often difficult to fix. It depends on what is needed, but even it you could find a repair shop to work on it, the cost would likely well exceed the value of the camera. Edited by m42dave

I second Dave's comment. I tried to get a Kowa SER working, years ago when I first started tinkering with cameras. The mechanism is very complex. A rotating spring loaded ring, at the base of the lens, controls the diaphragm, mirror, and shutter timing. I was unable to get the camera working.
