DrBen
Does anyone have any experience with the Mac version of ACDSee Pro (ACDSee Photo Studio 4 Mac)? In particular how does it compare with Lightroom and is it stable?
g_richards
Does anyone have any experience with the Mac version of ACDSee Pro (ACDSee Photo Studio 4 Mac)? In particular how does it compare with Lightroom and is it stable? I cannot compare it to Lightroom as I don't use that program. I can talk about the Mac version of ACDSee. The older version was never properly supported by ACDSee and with every Apple OS change, the program would not work. It was very frustrating to say the least. As far as the functionality of the program it was fine. It did not contain all the bells and whistles as the PC version but it did the job. I have been trying out the Beta version of ACDSee Photo Studio 4 Mac and it seems to be stable as far as the OS goes. They have not yet given it any new features, such as cloning or blemish remover, etc. It basically is the same older program tweaked so that it works. Time will tell if ACDSee continues to support it. I hope they do as the program has much potential. It is quite capable of PP images as well as cataloging too. Hope that helps! GR Update: I now have the final for sale version of ACDSee Photo Studio for Mac 4 and have had a chance to use it. Although it has potential the program is still not where it needs to be. This final version (non-beta) behaves much like a beta with numerous bugs. I tried processing images with it and gave up. I went back to using Corel's Aftershot Pro 3 software. Hopefully, they will fix the bugs and the program will do what it is supposed to do. Right now though I would pass on this version until known bugs are fixed.
