I'm strongly resisting Thanksgiving food-prep photos on this fine Nikon Wednesday before Thanksgiving. But I suspect next week there will be some aftermath shots. Because that turkey always lasts at least a week. Hope everyone's with friends or family and enjoying a peaceful week as best they can. And making photographs.

But this time around, it's just some quick shots from a session on site with a client. Was there to get some vehicle images made, but a client showed up to take delivery of a beautiful 40-foot motor coach, and get an introduction to this new rig. The Boys and their toys theme reminds me of the choices available to us. So this week I chose the same photo in colour and black and white - which do you prefer?

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all, and Who Dat!

All shot with d810 and a nearly 50 year old nikkor H 50/2

Grandparents Day last week at Stuart Hall School...Aidan looking at the camera. Sometimes this new to me d810 amazes me...this is ISO 10 thousand.

And this past weekend was the Gumbo Festival here in New Orleans, held at Armstrong Park--the old Congo Square.

Took the D850 and Sigma 35mm/1.4 Art to the the Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco, and that overlooks the City Hall.

San Francisco City Hall image: f2.8, 1/40 sec and iSO 3200

Concert Hall image: f4, 1/125 sec and ISO 2000. This image has a bit more noise than I would like to see. Probably should have used f2.8 and maybe 1/60 sec instead, but then I would risk having some motion among the people.

Others may be having snow, and it's been windy and rainy today, but last Friday was a sunny autumnal day in my parts. I needed to get out of my catless house (Soda would have enjoyed sitting on the window in the sun, then jumping on me to show me how toasty her head had got), so here are some bright colours.

It was a little gusty even on Friday - all these are D810, 24-120 f/4 + polariser, this one is at 1/20s and f/18 for some blur. I also fired up my drone (bought several months ago, I've been busy) and regretted standing in a field for half an hour in a T-shirt while it did a firmware update - but I can't really claim that was Nikon related.
