Sandy Vongries
The pop up ads for the Nikon 850 appear twice (only one needed), slow operation and collapse the Create Thread to an nameless black bar. Not a good thing. Edit: Now I see - two different ads. Maybe excessive and counterproductive?
kendunton
? Do you not have an Ad blocker?
Sanford
Did that just start today? Really disturbing.
katsone
I think the adds are very distracting, not happy about them at all! They're bad enough as a header, but in between posts in "No Words" is just too much!
kendunton
I don't see any...
Sanford
I can't start a new thread! I think the Nikon ad is covering up the "start a new thread" button.
Sandy Vongries
There is / was a black bar where create thread was - just click on that. That has been fixed on mine, but now I am up to 3 Nikon ads. They appear on all the other brands forums as well. Wonder how that goes down. Sanford
I had to shrink the page size to nearly unreadable to see the "start a new thread" button, then expand it back to normal size.
Sanford
Is Adblock or the various popup blockers safe on Firefox or Safari?
kendunton
Is Adblock or the various popup blockers safe on Firefox or Safari? Yes. It's an add on to Firefox - which I use. Free to use. Saves a lot of hassle. (Adblock plus) I have no idea what you lot are talking about as I can't see any pop ups!
stefan_g
On the default chrome browser on an Android device, pages from this site never seem to finish loading, I assume this is due to ad reloading. The constant jumping to the top and back severely impacts reading and even more posting.
Dieter Schaefer
Just now PN starts bothering me with a pop-up that complains that I am using ad block and that I am supposed to whitelist the site - but even when I turn adblock off for the site, the pop-up remains. A: I don't care that PN wants to have me see ads - I never click on any anyway. So what's the point of the pop-up? So me not seeing the ads in no way interferes with "maintaining the quality of the website". On the contrary, I claim that my participation on this website does contribute to the quality. B: even when I whitelist the site, the pop-up persists - and that is a sure way to drive me away from PN. C: if you choose to utilize that pop-up then make damn certain that it works as intended - this one does not. EDIT: problem solved - all ad blocking in browser disabled, pop-up goes away. Thankfully, even with the browser-ad-blockers disabled, I still don't get to see the ads :D Edited November 21, 2017 by Dieter Schaefer
