christopher_osullivan
Hi all, I was wondering if you could help me with a dirty lens... This is a 180mm tlr lens that belongs to a Mamiya C2. If you can see close enough, it looks like gunk in random lines. There's also a few beads of condensation smack dab in the middle of the glass. This is at the back of the lens. The front is very clean. So, basically, I have two questions: Is it fixable? Is it worth getting it fixed? Thanks for all your help!
Sandy Vongries
Looks like fungus. Don't know what it would cost to clean, but here same camera w 3 lenses for not a lot. Mamiyaflex C-2 with three lens...65mm, 135mm, and 180mm | eBay
kendunton
Looks like a very bad case of fungus to me too. Basically, it's not worth it.
jim_bielecki1
If the lens is yours, no harm in taking it apart and cleaning it. What you see may be fungus and/or haze. It may clean off easy, or it may not clean off at all. If this lens isn’t yours, don’t buy it (unless it’s dirt-cheap).
Sandy Vongries
IMO a cheap problem is still a problem that may not turn out to be cheap. If you don't own it, be thankful & pass it by. If you do own it, consider whether or not repair would be throwing good money after bad!
