Aaron1234
Hello, how is everyone doing? I have a question about cleaning my camera. What is the best way to get rid of the dust specs when looking into the camera. I see dust all over. I keep cleaning it but it won’t go away. What the best way to clean a camera? graham_evans2
Assuming the mirror is clean it is likely to be dust on the screen and/or the prism. As you cannot remove the prism on a AE1 program that makes things a little tricky. Does this model offer different viewing screens? Look in a manual to see. If it does then you should be able to remove the one you have and very carefully clean it. Prism dust well, there's not much you can do without removing the top of the camera which kind of makes it a repair shop job.
JDMvW
Unless the dust is on/in the lens itself - that is to say, in the optical path between the subject and the film plane- it doesn't matter. By learning to ignore dust on the mirror or the prism, you can save much distress and even money.
