Fuji DL-200 with Fujinon 32mm/2.8 lens

Hi all,

 

Is there anybody who are familiar with this camera? it's a black plastic,

brick-looking camera with drop-film autoloading and electric motor film advancer

 

My main question is how to change the battery? for the life of me I can't figure

out where the battery compartment is.

 

Please help!

What luck! Today I was browsing a local thrift store and bought it for 99 cents. It looked like it might have a nice lens. I nearly gave up on finding the battery compartment, but finally figured it out. You need to open the back cover completely. There is a little silver arm that prevents it from opening all the way. You can gently pull back on the silver arm where it attaches to the the body. It will pull away from the body and allow you to open the back all the way. The battery I found was a Panasonic Lithium CR-P2 6V. I hope that helps.

I'll definitely post some photos for comparison. Unfortunately I don't have a film scanner so I have to resort to scanning prints on my flatbed scanner. Maybe that's a hint I need to buy a Nikon film scanner. Perhaps I'll request a photo CD when I get my prints. It's spooky that you are a vi fan too. I used to own an Olympus OM-2s, but I unfortunately sold it in my money-starved college days many, many years ago. I wish I still had it. The good thing is that it's possible to find good deals on film cameras nowadays. I love the simplicity and feel of the old film cameras.

Sadly, my DL-200 is DOA. I replaced the battery but none of the buttons worked. I thought that maybe it needed film loaded in order to function. I inserted some film and the motor started up. Yes! But then the camera proceeded to pull all of the film out of the cannister. That worried me, but I thought maybe that it was one of those cameras that pulled in the roll after each picture. Unfortunately pressing any button except the rewind button was non-functional. I'll probably make one last ditch effort by taking the camera apart and looking for an obvious disconnection of some sort. If that doesn't work then I'll give up.

I like your blog site, makes an anti-handyman like me feel like I can tackle replacing the light-seals. I have a rare Red Olympus XA2 whose seals are starting to crumble so I may be tempted to follow your footsteps. And your blog about thrift store camera shootout is funny, you must be living in the "right" neighborhood to be able to net a Leica from the local thrift store ;)

 

So far the Fuji is the apex for me :( sad, isn't it?

 

Bummer on your Fuji, I wish I have 10 more sceneries around me that I can finish the roll in it with. I too was freaking out when the camera unrolls the whole film and starts counting the frames from the opposite direction. Hopefully the lens is as good as I think it is.

 

I primarily use an OM-4, still trying to master the spot metering. My other favorite camera is the Olympus Pen FT. This little half-frame camera is a darling to use and the result is amazing, feel free to check out my flickr pages:

I just got this camera without a battery holder how can i get it to work without soldering
