Renewal

I do not want automatic renewal. There is no way to opt out on this site.

I too have no option to cancel the automatic subscription renewal in 'My Account' section!

 

Please instruct me how to do this before I am billed for $29.95.

 

I have not been a member here for years and was not aware I could still be charged.

Agreed, definitely spam. The sender's email account and the URL are in no way connected to photo.net. I received the same email.

Do NOT click on the links in that email about insurance or updated conditions. They link to a zip file, most likely trojan or virus.

Spam or not, the sender got my full name and my email address, so your database looks as if it's been hacked.

Clive, it's unlikely that the database has been hacked, so I expect your password is safe. If in doubt, you should change your password now. I expect the login names and email addresses have either been leaked or were part of the mass event "Onliner Spambot" as recently added to the list of breaches at Have I been pwned? Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach.

 

I have notfied my email as spam to Norton using their Outlook plugin.

It's more than Spam! If someone knows you have a photo.net account, then send you an email with your name using the email you used here, then they have all of your contact info. Name, Address, billing info. SO, CLOSE MY F!@#ing account photo.net

I got the same email. I did try to open their ".pdf/.zip" file and found it is a javascript. Almost certainly malware. That said, I am truly pissed that I can find no option to close or cancel my account here on Photo.net. I've never used my account, but I might like to do so. How do I maintain it without getting any "automatic upgrades" and/or without any obvious method on this site to cancel???

Ditto. Email today that I will be auto-charged, and I cannot find any place to cancel my account.

 

I see from several threads that this is not a new problem, but apparently no one at photo.net thinks its something they will fix. That sounds like fraud.

I also received this email informing me of an "automatic" billing of $29.95/ year. I see no way to cancel my account. Is this legal?

Confusion in continuum. Isn't there supposed to be a PayPal option on the renewal box? All I see is the Credit Card info to fill. Where's PayPal?

Photo.net web master needs to know this: I received emails notifying me that my subscription is ending. After I signed in using Safari, and entered credit card info, the green button you click to send the info does nothing. I did the same exact thing in Chrome, and it works.

I have searched my account and profile settings for about 15 minutes and can't find out how to access this info. This site has become so confusing that I want nothing to do with it. Can someone please advise me on making sure I don't get auto renewed and how to access my payment info.

It's not as easy as you would think. There have been numerous complaints about this over the months. Don't know if and when it will be dealt with. Best bet is to use the CONTACT button at the bottom of the page to contact administration directly, but even that may not bring you satisfactory results in a timely manner. Best of luck.

I didn't want to go into this, but for me, "New Posts" is a mess, with the order constantly changing, and zombie post coming back to life every time someone decides to grace one with a comment. I value you and others who are still here; I remember how glad I was that JDM returned to photo.net after an absence, but it's much less enjoyable with so many people who taught me things now gone.
