Snail on a yucca, Punta Colorada Uruguay. There was a much bigger one but by the time I went to get my camera, change the lens, etc., it had descended more that half a meter into the grass below! Swift is not a word that I would normally use to describe a snail. My odds are on the Uruguayan racing snails in any race!1790701912_SnailonYucca.jpg.0d7239cde3666a9b6fc6905b17b9dc10.jpg

I took a series of these sitting on my front porch one evening this summer with a D800E and an AF-S 85mm f/1.8 lens. The shutter was at 1/2000, ISO 640, f/5.

It was early twilight, the mosquitoes were starving and a battalion of these guys showed up to protect us. They fed for about 1/2 an hour and then disappeared leaving us mosquito-free.
