david_sacco1
I am trying to lay my hands on a Omega D6 enlarger and have been trying ebay for the last 2 months with no luck. Any other ideas out there?
charles_ghent
There have been many D6's on eBay. What's the problem?
wmichaelb
David, try Columbus Camera Group, www.columbuscamera.com. I've visited their store, and they have a huge inventory of older enlarger equipment. They also sell a good bit on eBay. YMMV.
george_nedleman
I bought mine from Midwest camera . A D-6 chassis, no head- $200. I made the base and found that I needed a support at the top of the post (which is huge). I made a housing that fit the existing head arms for a cold light. david_sacco1
Did the D-6 come in a color version? and are all color enlargers diffusion ? No such thing as color condenser enlarger right? David Sacco
patrick_drennon
Vivitar VI is occasioally for sale on e-bay and is a condenser enlarger w/ a very good color head.
tony_doucet
Does the D6 come in a colour version? Yes, mine has the Chromega dichroic head, which is a diffusion head. Are all colour enlargers diffusion? No, I had an old 35mm only enlarger from Russi which had a condenser head. To do colour on this beast you put filters in a drawer between the condensers and the negative.
david_sacco1
Thanks for the info but still no good leads. I did find some omega D-6 in photomall.com but price was pretty high like $750 without the head that added up to about $1,100 bucks. Damm a brand new D-5 is only $1,700. Ebay has very little 4x5 enlargers at the moment. I am in the process of checking out columbuscamera.com. Any other leads appreciated. Thanks for the leads thusfar. shaleece_haas
Have you tried Harry Taylor at Classic Enlargers? He restores, refurbishes and resells Omega enlargers and is very honest and knowledgeable. If nothing else, he'll know where to direct you. He's at (203)329-9228.
