Matt Laur
Important: please keep your image under 1000 pixels on the longest side for in-line viewing, and please keep the FILE SIZE UNDER 300kb. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here: http://www.photo.net/nikon-camera-forum/00W7km. This forum's moderators are allowing up to three Nikon Wednesday images per week, so share some work! Sometimes it's just a snapshot, even on Official Serious Photography People Nikon Wednesday. Here's permission to just phone it in this week with a casual photo, as you see fit. In my case, the guy who came to do an estimate on a tree removal went out to his "office" to type things up. He seems pretty familiar with that way of doing things. So, come on Nikon folks: we're slumming it this week. Anything will do! If you try too hard, you're trying too hard. Well, or post something difficult and beautiful, because we like that too. Share! Grabbed this with a 35mm Sigma on the D810 that was in the bag by the door. tsypkin
Good Nikon Wednesday, everybody. I have not posted here for several months, since my best model, our nearly fourteen year old golden retriever, passed away. But now we have a new family member. His name is Toby, and he is a Havanese, four and a half months old now. Here is he is on August 13, one day after we had brought him home.
tsypkin
And here is Toby watching the last episode of the House of Cards. We don't let him watch the real news from Washington in order not to damage his sensitive psyche.
tsypkin
And here is Toby last week, weighing in at 9 pounds and 2 ounces. The first two photos taken with Nikon D7100, Sigma 17-50 mm,and SB700 speed light. This last one used the same body and the trusty Nikon 70-200 mm and no flash.

wade_roth
Last week I decided to do some black and white work. I thought I'd finally bite the bullet and figure out how I'm going to process them since Silver Efex Pro is on its deathbed. It was fun, and now it's funny since it seems that DxO is going to keep Silver Efex Pro alive and kicking. Andrew Garrard
I was hoping to get some more shooting done, or at least to have the chance to process some older images, but I'm struggling. I'll save myself a couple of posts in case I get to my shots of Grand Prismatic or a fog bow. What I can do is follow the "no effort" advice, and also follow last week's convention (at the risk of copying a ) that photos of Nikon gear count as much as photos with Nikon gear. I hope. In another thread, people asked how I fitted everything I took to Yellowstone in an airline carry on. I found I'd barely unpacked, so here's the proof. Left column: D810, Tamron 24-70, Nikon 14-24 (the plastic bag holds the optic attachment for the astro tracker I took but didn't use). Middle column: 300mm f/4 (original) with TC-14E attached, battery charger on top. I think in transit I managed to get a phone in there too. D4 head on the bottom. Right column: 200mm f/2, 200-500 f/5.6 with batteries on it (in transit there was a laptop external battery and charger there too), 70-200 f/2.8 with a 200mm f/4 on top (in transit, padded with tissues). Add a laptop and some books to the front pocket and this was... a bit heavy. Which is why I mostly shot near the car and didn't go hiking. :-) On the last day of my conference, when I was actually carrying this between the hotel I was staying in and the meeting rooms, I did get dragged up several flights of stairs by someone wanting to interview me; it didn't go well. The first time I stepped off the kerb to cross the street my knees nearly buckled because I hadn't compensated. All good exercise, nonetheless.
